Healthy Activities the Kids will Love in Melbourne

Make this year your child’s happiest and healthiest yet! Scrap the cinema and shopping centres – think water parks, trampolines and maze gardens instead. Here are our suggestions for the best child-friendly healthy activities and things to do in Melbourne.

Funfields Water Park

What better way to keep the kids occupied than by spending a day at a water theme park? Funfields is filled with a variety of rides and activities like bumper boats, waterslides and toboggan rides. It’s a sure fire way to keep them cool, active and happy, all day long.

Collingwood Children’s Farm

If your kids are animal lovers, then head on over to Collingwood Children’s Farm and give them a close up experience with farm life and of course, animals! Donkeys, horses, pigs, sheep, cows and more – they’ve got it. And if you’re there at either 10am or 4pm, the kids can even learn first hand how to milk a cow while you kick back and relax at The Farm Café.

Royal Park Nature Play

Nothing can beat a classic day at the park, especially when it’s as fantastic (and free!) as this one. Suited to kids over five years old, Nature Plat at Royal Park has an abundance of stuff to keep them active and entertained, like high rope traverses, swings, climbing structures, and even a water play area.

Enchanted Maze Garden

The Enchanted Maze Garden has been dubbed an ‘adventure wonderland’, and with all of its action packed activities, we have to agree! Your little ones will be in heaven solving the giant puzzles, tube sliding, completing obstacle courses and more.

Scienceworks

Bursting with things to challenge curious little minds, Scienceworks is a hub for young people to play with Science. It’s the perfect place to let the kids wander safely and immerse themselves in the exhibitions, like the Lightening Room and Planetarium. What a great way to mix learning and fun together.

Anakie Fairy Park

Does your little one have a love for tales, myths and legends? If so, spend a day at Anakie Fairy Park and they’ll be transported into the wonderful world of fairy tales, dragons, princesses, towering castles and model trains, letting their imagination run wild. Don’t forget to pack some healthy lunch and snacks for a picnic at one of the various scenic locations in the park.

BOUNCE Inc

Bounce Inc is the ultimate children’s paradise. With over 3,000 square metres of trampolines, and a mission to inspire movement, creative expression and human connection – we can’t think of a better place to take the kids. Oh, and we guarantee it’s just as fun for mum and dad!

Ian Potter Foundation Children’s Garden

Designed to intrigue, teach and excite children from a young age, Ian Potter Foundation Children’s Garden is a place where your kids can play and explore. They can paddle, dig, climb, build – the list is endless. They’ve even created a ‘50 things for kids to do’ checklist… That’s how much there is to explore!
